The pool holds up to two adults at once: the candidate lying full length, and the officiant beside them in the water. Additional helpers can stand at the edge to assist with entry and exit.

Does the baptistry have steps or a handrail for getting in and out?

The baptistry itself does not include a built-in step or handrail. Plan for a stable step stool and a non-slip surface nearby, with a helper's hand always available to assist entry and exit.
